Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands
  Last visited: 07-2018
Our visit to the port of Grand Turk occurred during the week of July 15, 2018. The cruise ship was able to dock at this port which main embarkation and debarkation to the island relatively easy. {However, there was another Carnival Ship docking at the same time which made the port crowded and a bit confused}. Once off the ship all passengers are funneled-through the Duty Free shop before you can actually reach the port and its activities.

Once through the Duty Free shop, you are faced with a seemingly endless array of booths in a semi-circle representing the various excursions available. We made our way to our booked excursion of a Hummer vehicle tour of the island and attractions. {See separate review of this excursion}.

The island contained the normal amount of souvenir shoppes; Ron Jon Surf Shop, Duty Free Shop, trinket and T-shirt shops, etc. The preferred method to pay for purchases was CASH - the shops did not seem to care for credit cards; also, the ship's "sail card" could not be used.

There appeared to be much remaining hurricane damage once you ventured outside of the immediate cruise debarkation point.
