The Southern Caribbean landscape is something to see, teeming with exotic flowers and stretches of sun-bleached beaches. Imagine aquamarine seas ablaze with brightly colored coral reefs and schools of technicolor fish. The Southern Caribbean islands are small, and are either volcanic or made of limestone coral. Due to the close proximity of the equator, the Southern Caribbean has all year around tropical weather. Islands such as Aruba and Barbados occasionally suffer droughts, while Grenada receives a great deal of rainfall. Many cruise lines consider Puerto Rico to fall within the Southern Caribbean, while others will also include it in Eastern and even Western Caribbean itineraries. |
